JOKIPE foundation Uganda is a Non-profit organization with its main goal to promote income generating activities, community development, women, children, youth and elderly empowerment through capacity building .education, trainings and workshops and fund its projects through out sourcing and networking both with local development partners and government to enhance community project sustainability. Hence on the social corporate responsibility role the foundation has further fostered preaching and Christianity teaching workshops to the local community members to enhance the gospel to reach a wide range of community members most especially the young generation so that Gods people can minister as he intends and live a religious God fearing life.
JOKIPE will target better household income improvement of general community livelihood, promote awareness and advocacy on community development, project sustainability, improved livelihoods, better education, capacity building, hands on training and increased house hold income of community members through elderly, youth and women empowerment.
The toll of the COVID-19 Pandemic has contributed significantly to low house hold incomes, poor standards of living, hunger, unemployment and poverty worldwide and has weighed on people’s accessibility tofood, better employment, improved house hold incomes and improved standards of living, education etc. In Uganda, the story is not any different whereby the country has experienced lockdowns which have had a strain on the economy. The government managed to reach out to a few categories of people but millions were left out, especially in the village areas. Curren tly, the economy is still unstable and the struggle continues to put a meal on the table, hence the birthplace of JOKIPE Foundation Uganda.
JOKIPE Foundation Uganda is to operate in remote areas of Northern Wakiso district that’s Masanafu, Ssumbwe and Bulenga, Mukono etc. with a target population of 1000 community members at the initial stage and these will include the youth, women and elderly. The beneficiaries will have access to trainings in better agricultural methods, capacity building, income generating activities and practice in proper nutrition and will participate in several workshops to equip them with better farming skills and knowledge.
The various income generating activities will include, poultry farming, piggery farming, maize farming, dairy goat farming, fruit tree and vegetable farming, etc. The capacity building projects will include training in various farming practices, workshops and seminars promoted by the foundation to empower both youth and women to fully participate in the foundation programs. Baseline surveys and community needs assessment programs will be used to determine the actual community needs and problems.
